Currently

Not being with my child 24 hours a day, have made me appreciate the moments we spend together even more! Here, Nereus at the balcony looking for kitties and showing me where his hair is.
EATING a little better lately. I kinda ruined what I have created and started eating sugar again. Not the huge amounts that I used to consume, just a little bit. But, you know what? I don't need it. Why eat it? I'm in the process of creating all of our food from scratch. I already make our own vegan milk, cheese, yogurt, mayonnaise, pesto, hummus, crackers, biscuits, smoothies, juices well, most of our food. I make an exception now and then for mustard (which I'm planning to start making myself soon), rice cakes & rusks (both sugar and salt free) and rarely for sugar free bread. Oh and some premade spring rolls that my mother buys for me occasionaly (she's always saying that I shouldn't try so much with food cause it's too tiring--I don't agree on the first part but I can't resist on these spring rolls).

DRINKING beer! Did you know that it's super healthy? It is, like all fermented foods! Drink beer people! Just be careful if you're a breastfeeding mama like me. Don't over do it!

LISTENING to lots of music and dancing as well. Nereus is dancing like a crazy and it's so freaking funny! I love it so bad that he's at this age and enjoys our little dance parties!

READING "Eating Animals". Yep still reading that. I am so so so busy lately and I only make it to read a few pages now and then. But next week, I'll have to wait in a few queues and maybe I'll finish it!

THINKING about how to balance my life as a  blogger, working mama without a particular working schedule, and everyhting else while not sacrificing my family. Nereus is our top priority and I don't want him to lack in anything. One word -overwhelmed-. But happy!

  1. Love this post! I love it how you make all that food for your family from scratch! Is your husband vegan too (I've always assumed he was)? Dancing babies is the best thing ever! I was thinking of posting a video of Amar'e dancing, but she wont dance without me and I cant dance a film her dancing at the same time! :)

    1. No he's not! I respect his choice to be an omnivore but I would love it if he was a vegan LOVE IT! Hey you should put the camera on a tripod or shelf or something and dance with her. The post it so we can see...it would be so fun!

  3. I feel like balance is the ongoing goal for every parent. As long as you're thinking about it and doing something to work toward it, then you're on the right track.

    1. Well it can happen if you're organised! For example I started a second part time job (one that happens only occasionaly on the weekends) and I had so little time to spend at home the last two days so I'm going to buy some soy milk cause I'm out of milk. This is all new to me and when I'll balance things a little bit, I'll add the almond milk making on the program so that it can happen even on the busiest days!

  5. I feel like I'm always working on balance. Sigh. Some weeks I feel like I do way better than other. Also, I'm way impressed with your sugar free life. I have a major sweet tooth, not sure if I could do this. I hope you start posting some of you "made from scratch" recipes. I *try to use raw ingredients and make most of our food from scratch but I don't always have the time to.

    1. I think that this is how it goes. Maybe your life is balanced and then your kid gets sick and things get a little crazy so you have to balance thing again. I have a sweet tooth, too. I want something sweet after almost every meal. I'm still working on it. I'm planning to share several recipes soon. It's good if you try to make most of your food from scratch. This is what I do, too.

  6. Balance is always hard. I'm nearly 3 years into this parenting thing and it's still something I struggle with!
