18 months

Before I started writing this line, I stopped for a minute and thought...18 months have passed since I became a mother. 18 months since I stopped being the girl I was. So many changes...so many! I once told to a friend of mine that the fact that I had a baby at such a young age was not the best idea. And in my surprise, she told me "And what would your life be like if you haven't done it, Krysta? You have became a much better person because of this baby!". She was right. In so many ways. The most huge thing Nereus did to me was that he changed me completely. And I thank him so much.

So, 18 months. What an amazing stage. He's a kid now, right? And of course, he'll always be my baby. But, objectively, he's a kid now. Much more independent. He can spend a few hours away from me and be fine. He actually had his first baby sitted experience last week, when my cousin watched him so I could work a bit (he always stays with me or his dad).

It's amazing how fast they grow, right?

I came home from work the other day and found Nereus with a tiny ponytail.
I love it!

Funny facts about Nereus...

*Still obsessed with cooking and everything that has to do with the kitchen.
*A couple of days ago, he met a boy at his age. Nereus was eating pita bread and the little boy tried to grab it from his hand. His mother didn't let him and he started crying. I brought the packet with the pitas to give to the little man and Nereus got one before I even noticed and offered it to his friend. My heart melted.
*He dances like a crazy man at any tune. It's especially interesting (for us) when he dances on rock or hi hop...too funny.
*Doing all these animal sounds. Lion, elephant, monkey, duck, dog, cat, frog, bee, hippo, tiger.
* He's searching for boobs in everyone's shirt haha.
*He's doing the same question all day long "Aaaa?" (=What's thaaat?") while pointing on several stuff.
*He insists to take off his shocks and shoes when he breastfeeds.
*He violently puts his fingers in our noses. Man that hurts. We sometimes bleed.
*He's also obsessed with cleaning. He wants to throw stuff in the garbage,  clean his highchair and himself.

  2. Wonderful post! Nereus is so adorable with his hair like that! I love it when little ones interact. They don't see rich or poor, they don't see color or class, they only see a friend! We can learn a lot from our children. :)

I couldn't stop laughing at " He's searching for boobs in everyone's shirt"! hahahaha too funny!

  3. you are too sweet.. and Nereus is amazing! (and has a stunning name)
I have a very young mother (I was born when she was 20) and I'm an old one (I became a mother at 37).
Trust me: absolutely worth the matter to have babies at young age.
I totally agree with your friend.
I constantly ask myself: what was I doing before having Pietro?

    1. You are right Barbara! I knew it was a good choice, but sometimes I think that the fact I'm struggling with everything is because of my age. Thanks for everyhting!

  6. Love the pony. I do this to Jarvis, but he pulls it out straight away. Jarvis is the same with cooking and cleaning, has got my wondering if I do too much of this, hence why he mimics this behaviour. Boys and boobs, never ends.

    1. Really? Nereus loves it because they fall into his eyes and it's too annoying. "Boys and boobs, never ends." hahaha so true.
