Vegan BLW: Soup

Ok I have to admit it. I was so scared to give him soup! All that blw food mess was too much for me. I thought about waiting to see any signs of readiness, but I don't know if there would be any. I was constantly avoiding making soup, because of the fear of cups, spoons and soup of course eeeeverywhere in the house.

And then, one day, I craved lentil soup. So, I made one. And although I was planning to strain some lentils to offer him, the last minute I decided to offer some soup and see what happens. He didn't know how to use a spoon or dippers and I didn't want to confuse him more. I served his lentil soup into a plastic cup and hoped for not much chaos. And guess what...he did great!

There was some mess, yes. But not that much. I really thought it would be worse. If you give food to your baby to experiment, either by practicing baby led weaning or not, among others, offer him foods that seems difficult to handle. You never know when your baby will be ready for a certain food and he may surprise you. I regret that I didn't give him the chance to try this before. It was such a pleasure to watch him figuring out how to eat soup!

I am amazed by what a little baby can do! On 11 months he had made a huge progress with feeding himself. I'm working on some other great blw posts, I'm planning to post soon. I'm so excited!
